Old Farts

Welcome to the page dedicated to the Old Farts of the LMFC.

From left to right is Colin with his electric tucano and electric junior 60, Barry with his  old favourite cessna 177, Harold with yet another of his home builds, (Picture was taken just after a meeting with terra firma knocking his engine off) and Gordon with his walking stick which we couldn't get airborne ! Hiding behind a strategically held  plane is poly john taking a call of nature.

And as you can see due to the strain of holding a transmitter in two hands for any length of time regular rest periods are taken which gives the old farts a chance to put the world to rights and Harold to plan his next multi million pound prototype aero projectile !

On a more serious note, if anyone who has time on there hands retired or not who fancies taking up model flying Barry, Harold, Colin, Gordon and all the other guys that fly mid week at the derby road field will give you a warm welcome and help you  make a start in this marvellous sport and past time.

Well im pleased to say the "old farts" have put us young un's to shame !

Baz (Barry sharp) has updated me with the new photos taken by him showing the new outfits that the fashion conscious old farts are wearing this summer.

First up is Arthur Simpson sporting a red elbow length teeshirt , clashing green baseball cap and wrinkled ankle socks!
Next up on the catwalk is Josh, Gordon and Harold.                                      The top three "old fart" models showing us the latest head gear that's being worn in London , Paris , New York AND Derby road playing fields !
Last but not least is the queen bee himself !                                         Bazza clad in full head gear showing he still knows which bits to twiddle with!
On a more serious note it's nice to see such a good turn out on the flightline at derby road mid week !
