Aerobatic

Stuart Sirrell has only been with the LMFC for around two years but started flying free flight models with his father at the age of ten.
On and off over the years he has flown gliders, pylon racers and even tried helicopters but as you can see his pride and joy at the moment is his Seagull models Harmon Rocket 111.
It has a wingspan of 50.4 in , weighs  approx  6.5 lbs and is powered by a SC .46 and as Stuart say's "it's a very nice sports model."
Stuart flies many models at the moment, most are electric but he still likes to get his hands dirty every now and again with an IC model.                     Stuart has just thrown the gauntlet down to the rest of the electric flight guys by keeping his hot ship glider (shown right) in the air for 1 hour at the Wymeswold field. So come on somebody try and break his record !

Wayne Applebee anf 'Magic' Fun Fly aircraft

Wayne Appleby has been a member for a few years now seen here with the ModelTech 'Magic' Fun Fly. Powered by a Thunder Tiger .42 GP. These are great models for 'prop hanging' and other tight manoeuvres. Wayne has several other models he flies which I will capture here later.

Brain Axten (chairman) Extra 300 aircraft

Brian Axten our 'beloved' Chairman for many years got into the sport long ago flying control line. Due to work and family commitments he has not been able to get down the field as often as he would have liked but has promised himself this year he will be down to fly. Probably the Extra 300 shown ! Photo taken some time ago in warmer weather, notice the short sleeves and  tan! The other Saturday Brian was flying the IMPULSE. An ARTF kit produced by Phoenix Model Aircraft Design. Wingspan of 1600mm (63inch), with an O.S. 46FX . It is a low wing, tail dragger with steerable tail wheel. The model is aerobatic and capable of being flown very smoothly

Steve McWeeney with his superair 40 powered by an irvine 46.               Steve passed his "A" certificate last year and now is just polishing his technique and trying a few aerobatics manoeuvres.

Will Pearson has been a member of the LMFC since November 2006 starting off with a trainer under the guidance of Phil Brooks on a buddy lead. Will soon progressed on to a correx combat plane (which I will soon been dedicating a web page to) which he loves to fly but can be seen here with his new Hanger 9 Pulse XT powered by a Evolution .46 and he says it is a great flyer !

Ben Brooks (our junior club rep) with his "SPAD" which stands for simple plastic aircraft design. This type of plane is used by the club for combat flying along with a few other designs but Ben just loves flying his all the time and says they're great for building confidence because they're semi-unbreakable.

Dave Gliddon with his Seagull models PC9 Turcano powered by an OS46AX.
