Sunday 30th July 2006 - 'CLUB MEMBERS' day at the new field.
A very successful 'CLUB DAY' enjoyed by many of the members.

LMFC SWAPMEET 2006

8.45am on the December morning of the LMFC Swapmeet. A bright cold day but already the front car park is virtually full with expectant sellers and buyers. Final preparations are in progress inside the venue in the halls and kitchen so we can open at 10.00am. The LMFC members work hard to complete the tasks and have time to serve tea to the table holders prior to opening.
With all the tables holders set up and ready and with queues forming we open ahead of schedule at 9.50. Looks to be another successful LMFC Swapmeet!
Early Doors and eager modellers filter into the 2nd hall. Lots of planes and helicopters to examine.  An amazing amount of engines, mounts, props, covering materials etc etc were evident this year. Better than a lot of Model Shops!
Sunday December 17th 2006 saw the Clubs' 9th annual swapmeet. As can be seen from the photos trade was very busy indeed and many smiling faces were seen leaving with assorted airframes, engines and other paraphernalia tucked under the arm - last minute presents for the wife of course! As usual a raffle was held with many festive prizes, and the kitchen staff were kept on their toes dispensing delicious bacon cobs and hot dogs. This years event has already been booked - Sunday December 16th - don't miss it - put it in your diary now and watch out for the ads later in the year. A big thank you to all our patrons for supporting another successful event.
A packed hall with lots of money and goods changing hands Midday and still extremely busy with deals going on. Bacon cobs, tea and a chat go down well with the ladies. More Ladies here to help carry the purchases to the cars (and Fund it?)

Colin Monk (right), event co-ordinator in his counting house ably assisted by Carol Soars who sold record numbers of raffle tickets and, Pearl Sewell chief clerk for the proceedings. Many thanks to the kitchen Staff, Guss, Sandra and Rob who also sold a record number of Bacon Cobs and Hot Dogs and all members that helped prior to and on the day. Colin just has to draw the many raffle prizes and the stress is over for another year. All tables booked - All food and drink sold out - record number of people - record takings. Many of the patrons expressed that this is one of the top three Swap meets in the Country.......

Wrong it is the NUMBER ONE!
